Kashmeer Is Not Negotiable

India has made it clear to Pakistan more than reasonable times that Kashmeer is an integral part of India and will continue to be the same for all times to come.

In fact what Pakistan needs to be worried about happens to be the welfare and well-being of its people, instead of spending the limited financial resources on military equipment. But, why Pakistan is still unable to understand the ground reality, is a million dollar question.

World community, of late, has understood the Indian position on kashmeer and that on the Pakistan occupied part of it. But the stubbornness of Pakistan with regard to kashmeer has surprised the whole world.

Threatening military giant like India, Pakistan is hell bent playing with the fire. Why Pakistan army and its intelligence agency ISI is consistently keeping its people in a misguided and confusing mode is something which talks volumes about its inability to face the Indian army in case it escalates the war against India.

Pakistan knows it very clearly that it cannot afford to enter into a war against India. So threatening India of a nuclear war is no less than living in a fool’s paradise for Pakistan. It looks as if Pakistan has forgotten the fate of its 93000 soldiers and hundreds of its officers and generals at the hands of Indian army in Bangladesh liberation war in 1971.

The nuclear capability of India may not be underestimated by countries like Pakistan and China. Pakistan and China need to introspect and reach to a very sensible conclusion that any country which is forced to use its nuclear capabilities can not sit and watch like a mute spectator. It has every right to counter any such misadventure or aggression.

India is a matured country and does not believe in misadventures.

Its nuclear capability is focussed on development and to raise the living standard of its people through advanced scientific research and technology.

India has made it clear to the world community at large that India will never make the “first use” of the nuclear weapons in any circumstance whatsoever. But if some country uses nuclear weapons against it then in that case no country can even stop India in retaliating in the same manner.

Pakistan, instead of curbing the terrorist activities being initiated from its soil, is engaging itself in a rhetoric that implies a war like situation against India. While on the other hand India wants Pakistan to take action against the terrorists and anti national elements operating from its soil, so that a situation could be created which could be conducive for bilateral relations.

Coming to ceasefire violations, Pakistan is unabatedly indulging in provoking Indian troops and at the same time aiming at the innocent civilians.

Casualties occur on both sides but Pakistan is knowingly letting its troops die just to create a feeling among its people that India is the aggressor and if Pakistani troops are dying it is only on account of unprovoked ceasefire violations by India. But, befooling its own people is not going to lead Pakistan anywhere instead it is bound to expose its terrorism oriented military misadventures completely.

Pakistan will have to learn from its mistakes lest it is too late.

Anyways threat posed by the hostile neighbours is quite understandable but what about the enemies within. There are very prominent and influential people holding top positions in their respective political parties, within the country who are hell bent to weaken the growth stability and the progress of the country, through their negative and anti national political stand. In a democratic setup it is very difficult to put brakes on their anti national surge. But, it is very important to bring them to the book so that the nation and the national integrity doesn’t have to face any threat within, at the behest of such anti national elements operating from the Indian soil.

When people from respected and elite political circles feel that they can go to any extent in defaming and even derailing the incumbent government , then in that case it is very difficult to put the blame only on Pakistan and the terrorist organisations operating from its soil.

When it comes to national integrity and national security all political parties need to exercise utmost caution and restraint. Political maturity and patriotic approach to the issues concerning the country’s image in the international political arena should be given preference over vested political interests. Opposition has to be sensitive to the issues concerning the Indian position on kashmeer, and if they can’t help dealing with a strong hand with Pakistan, they should not even create hurdles for the government which is for the first time making Pakistan feel that they can’t fool India and the international community on Kashmeer with their rhetoric, fabricated stories and hateful propaganda.

Something very substantial rather drastic needs to be done so that anti national elements whosoever it may be, are taught a befitting lesson.

Needless to mention that there are people within the country who even doubted the surgical strike against Pakistan. People who ask Pakistan to remove the present government if they want being friends with India. People who can stoop so low that they can defame and call names to the incumbent Prime minister Narinder Modi. People who on the one hand say with pride that they are Hindus but their own people oppose the construction of Ram temple in Ayodhiya. People who can have secret meetings with hostile neighbours without taking the government into confidence. People who can rally with anti national forces shouting hateful slogans which can boil any patriot’s blood with anger. People who can meet Chinese envoys amidst tension in Doklam. People who can cross every limit and talk in terms of POK being the part of Pakistan. All these people who claim to be Proud Indians need to introspect and realise what it is being a true Indian.

Democracy is OK. But, once democracy is being misused that too by your own people who don’t want the present government to work for the overall progress and development of the country, and more importantly for the cause of national integrity and India’s stand on Kashmeer, you need to act sternly against those if you hold the power to do so.

Dera, Delusion, Disaster

By Manmohan Dhar

India is a land of saints, sufis, religious gurus and yogis.Though we have reached the era of modern science and technology certain old beliefs, customs and superstitions have not yet changed. There are still many superstitions and blind beliefs prevailing in India. And that is very serious and disturbing.Ignorant man cannot understand the cause of certain things in life. He invents an imaginary explanation for the happening. He thinks that some unseen power is behind these natural events. There are people who believe in ghosts and spirits. They also believe in witch-craft. They think that the power of mantras controls everything. So ignorance is the cause of superstition. Most of us are superstitious in some way or the other.

Even scholars and learned people also fall an easy prey to the religious trap set by the so called religious gurus.  People are not able to overcome the traditional snag of the past.

Blind Faith is what shapes and formulates the religious physche of crores of people all over the country. Blind Faith and godman culture is nowadays order of the day. People from all walks of life, from almost all communities and from different sections of the society repose their faith in the self proclaimed religious gurus who are cropping up like mushrooms in India.

Ancient traditions, supercitition and illitracy are the root cause of believing the unbelievable. Innocent people from small towns and villages are being attracted to the self proclaimed religious gurus.

Something which needs to be addressed with utmost importance, that too on the administrative level, is eradication of  the menace of blind faith. Which in turn can minimize the effect of these dharam gurus and the vast sections of society can be freed from the clutches of fraudsters, who exploit them in the name of religion.

Their influence on the people is so predominant, that at times they succeed in making them even change their religion.

Very recently India has suddenly come under the grip of this religious menace resulting in convertions, forceful intercaste marriages and more alarmingly international flesh trade. This is surely not a very healthy state of affiars.

We are taking care of cleaning the urban as well as the rural environment on national level through various governmental schemes. We are taking care of saving the girl child. We are using governmental resources in motivating the international countries to invest in India. But have we ever thought of dealing with this social menace of blind faith. If like other social evils, blind faith in self styled godmen, is seriously being addressed by governmental agencies with the aim of putting an end to this social evil, it will undoubtedly change the hard core mind set of some stubborn sections of the society, who think attending the big bogus religious congegrations organised by these godmen is  part of their life.

Though very hard to deal with, as India has been home for all sorts of religious gurus since ages, but if thought of with a strong will to do away with, we can unroot the menace of blind faith and  religious evils.

The recent Revelations about some deras and madarsas have been very astonishing and disturbing. And the planning done by the chief runners of such religious places, is no less than treason, backstabbing, business, disloyalty, double cross, faithlessness, falseness,  infidelity, sellout, treachery and betrayal.

Several notable self-styled gurus have faced criminal action or are presently lodged in various jails across the country in numerous sexual assault cases.

And if we don’t nip the evil in the bud, ( I think this proverb doesn’t fit here, as the menace is not at the stage of bud, it has already grown into a giant evil tree. But anyways…) we are bound to face more difficulties in putting our nation on the track of progress and prosperity. Because these Godmen have already made the minds of crores of people uninventive, unsocial and ineffectual and idle. And idle brain is devil’s workshop. that’s what they have reduced these innocent people to.

Something is to be done. And it can not be ignored. Because if we do that we have to be ready for the serious repercussions that will emerge on account of inaction.

A proper scanning is needed in identifying the fake and misleading religious places in order to  bring them to book.

We may not reach the level where the European and American countries are, but we can still try to help our own people to get rid of this religious slavery, and make them contribute in nation building and their own prosperity and happiness.

Historical Lessons To Be Learnt By China Not India.

By Manmohan Dhar

China has dared to warn India that if it does not call it’s troops back from donglong and esclates a war like situation in the area, then China will be forced to deal militarily with India and the result won’t be in favour of India. Moreover India should learn lessons from 1962 war.

Well, India, what it was in 1962, is not in 2017. This was to be conveyed to the Chinese authorities, and that is what our defense Minister Mr. Arun Jaitley did.

China cannot be allowed to show it’s high-handedness in doklam, the area which belongs to Bhutan, and under an  agreement between India and the Bhutanese Government, India can intervene to safeguard the territorial interests of Bhutan.

But, China wants to undermine the territorial rights of Bhutan, simply by entering into it’s land and India cannot be a silent spectator to what China is up to.

Therefore, it is not the issue of as to who wins the war and who loses. It is the question of maintaining the sanctity of the International borders.

However, if China dares India, it is not India who has to learn lessons from 1962 war, it is China. India would have come out victorious even in 1962, had the Indian air Force been allowed to operate, by the then Prime Minister Pt.Jawahar Lal Nehru.

China must be day dreaming if it thinks in terms of it’s victory if it thrusts war on India. India is a super power, and will never allow China to grab the territories belonging to other neighbouring countries, even if it comes at a cost of fighting a war with China.

It would be in the greater interests of China to back off from doklam, and stop enchroaching into the Bhutanese territory and start a meaningful dialogue with all  neighbouring countries, including India.

A “face-saving” workable option would be, for both India and China, to simultaneously withdraw their troops from the Bhutanese territory of Doklam (called Dong Lang by China) near the Sikkim-Bhutan-Tibet tri-junction. And then only any meaningful dialogue could be started. Otherwise if China thinks that warning a giant like India through it’s rheteric, would be nothing but a futile exercise. Because India can give a befitting reply to China’s aggression, if at all it dares to challenge the might of Indian army.

China has a big lesson to learn from 1962, when India stood like a rock. China knows it better, had Indian air Force been allowed to operate, India would have won the battle.

But still, if china, enslaved by it’s arrogance, finds no other option than to enter into a conflict, it is bound to be taught a lesson.

The ball is in China’s court, let us see how the 15 day ultimatum given by China is transformed into a war.

Lallu”s  Legacy Dented.

By Manmohan Dhar

In the yesteryears of Bihar’s political scenario,Lallu Prasad yadav was the ultimate boss.

Lallu played a vital role in the central politics and at times he emerged as the kingmaker and even dictated terms to his political rivals.

Lallu attracted attention of millions of people in and around India, by his unique style of talking and reacting to questions put to him by the fellow politicians and even media.

Lallu Prasad yadav was once considered to be the chanakya of management ethos. As railway Minister of the country Lallu was able to bring the otherwise shattered  and most miserably hit Indian railways on the tracks of progress, reform and profitability.

And this was no less than a miracle. How he did it, is still a million dollar question. But anyways this surprised many and also put him ahead of all other management gurus of the country and abroad.

He once addressed the management students of universities like wharton and Harvard business school in the US and apprised them as to how he scripted his success story of Indian loss making railways.

During his tenure as railway Minister of the country in UPA regime, Lallu became very popular and was respected even by his political rivals.

But, who could have thought that Lallu is yet to script a story, but this time not a success story but a story of disaster, debacle and decimation of his political career. And, ironically he can blame none but himself for that.

Nitish’s parting ways in the coalition Government was the final nail in the coffin.

Lallu’s reverse counting in Bihar politics started with the “Fodder scam”.

The Fodder scam was a corruption scandal that involved embezzlement of about 9.4 billion from the government Treasury of Bihar. Among those implicated in the theft and arrested were then  Chief Minister of Bihar, Lallu Prasad yadav as well as former Chief Minister, Jagannath Mishra. The scandal led to the end of Lalu’s reign as Chief Minister.

Lallu’s reputation in Bihar received a big jolt on account of his involvement in corruption and misappropriation of state exchequer.

In a state of insecurity and fear that he may lose Bihar in the 2015 elections, Lallu played a big political game when he joined hands with Nitish Kumar. The bluff worked with the Bihar voter and Lallu somehow was able to do some face saving and the coalition came into being.

Though Nitish and Lallu are poles apart, in so far as the Bihar politics is concerned, but it was Nitish’s political compulsion that made him to join hands with Lallu, simply because he didn’t want BJP to come in power in Bihar.

And now the biggest and the ugliest family corruption tangle which involves almost every family member of Lallu’s family, has undoubtedly put Lallu in a soup. It has hit him very bad politically as well as socially. His younger son, Deputy chief minister,Tejashwi Yadav,  not only lost the chair but Lallu’s RJD also got thrown out of power by Nitish Kumar, joining hands with BJP to form a new Government,Tejashwi is named in an alleged case of land-for-hotels scandal. The CBI raided the residence of Lalu, also named in the case, and other properties in five cities, including Ranchi and Delhi. So all is not well in Lallu’s camp.

In fact the Bihar voter made Lallu  politically arrogant. And this arrogance and over confidence led to Lallu’s political decimation.

And, perhaps in the years to come Lallu may have to pay a much bigger price for the political sins committed by him under the patronage of some of his very close  aides, who had a very bad reputation in the political circles of Bihar.

Lallu’s ties with criminals, his psedosecular image, his corruption and political high-handedness are some of the very strong reasons for his debacle.

Lallu’ s political career,  I am afraid, has perhaps finally,  been put to rest.

Bofors…. Why Now.

By Manmohan Dhar

Bofors is going to haunt Congress and particularly the Gandhi family for quite a long now. Because, what was thought to be laid to rest has been brought to life by the incumbent government at the center.

The Bofors scandal was a major political scandal of a very big magnitude. The parties involved in the scandal were India and Sweden.

Congress party politicians, and various other members of the Indian and Swedish governments were accused of receiving kickbacks from Bofors, an arms and ammunition company of Sweden through a bank.

The scandal relates to illegal kickbacks paid in a US$1.4 billion deal between the Swedish arms manufacturer Bofors with India for the sale of 410  howitzer field guns, and a supply contract which would be fulfilled in future and which was almost twice that amount.

It was the biggest arms deal ever in Sweden. The Swedish company paid 640 million (US$9.9 million) in kickbacks to top Indian politicians and key defence officials.

A deal which was made by compromising the country’s image and interest, was struck with the help of an Italian middleman Ottavio Quattrocchi, who was very close to the Gandhi family and played a pivital role in sealing the deal with the Swedish arms manufacturer Bofors.

After the scandal got revealed, Bofors got blacklisted by the Indian Government in the year 1987. Which meant that no further arms deal could be entered into, with Bofors.

Though the Swedish government was taken into confidence in solving the Mistry of the scandal to find out as to who were the main culprits who received kickbacks from the Swedish arms manufacturer. But unfortunately the Bofors scandal which hurt every citizen of the country, got hushed up, by the subsequent Congress Governments at the center. And whatever less time was there for the non Congress Governments, was not sufficient to get to the facts of the case, as there was another country involved in the process of investigations.

“Why now”, is the question most of the Congress top brass politicians are raising and they are also ridiculing the Government’s move to revisit Bofors. Rahul Gandhi who is not in a mood to talk about Bofors after 30 years, as he put it, termed it to be yet another futile exercise for another 30 years. Because, perhaps according to him, the investigations which have been intiated by the Modi Government, are baseless. And the manner in which he seems to be reacting to all this, speaks of his political inability to behave like a true citizen of a great country.  Evenhis mother and the Congress party president, zaroor Sonia Gandhi also wants that Bofors should no longer be talked about now.

Anyways it may be recalled that Indian government, in collaboration with the Swedish government, which has agreed to furnish all concerning documents and details, in support of fact finding of Bofors, has made it amply clear that whosoever has received kickbacks and has betrayed the country and has misused  the highest Temple of democracy, the Parliament, to cover the biggest arms deal scandal, will be brought to book and punished, howsoever long it may take. Authorities have very rightly said that no one is going to be pardoned, even if he would have been holding the highest post of even a prime minister for that matter, at that point in time.

It has been the biggest betrayal with the countrymen and country had to pay a big price and has also suffered the most, just because some influencial politicians, bureaucrats and army personnel took the advantage of their positions simply to make huge assets for themselves and even for their subsequent generations, at the cost of country’s image, integrity and above all the national security.

How can one do it to his own country.

How Ugly….

And they plead…….”Why now”

They should be ashamed of themselves.

A true nationalist would be proud of what the Government is doing in it’s persuit to bring the culprits to book.

But why they say “Why”

Well!! Everybody knows,” Why”.

Hindi Chini Bhai Bhai…..Fact Or Fantasy

By Manmohan Dhar

In the year 1962 during the months of October and November, when China left no option for India than to enter into a conflict across the Sino Indian border, it would have been a win win situation for India, had the then prime minister Pt.Jawahar Lal Nehru, not committed the mistake of not using the Indian air Force in the war.

Anyways, that is history now. And mistakes made then, can not be rectified now.

And India also is not the same as it was in the year 1962. After 55 years of a war which could have been won but for one mistake, India is now in a position of dictating terms to China.

China has already stabbed India in the back, in 1962, when their army cunningly floated the distorting slogan like,”Hindi Chini Bhai Bhai”, and made forceful advances into the Indian territory. Though we had already captured some important posts of the Chinese army, but we had to withdraw .

Indian Army holds the unique distinction of being one of the world’s best in defending its country’s borders. However, the Indo-China war of 1962 goes down in our history books as a blot on the reputation of our forces and the country. Other than that debacle, there is no black spot on the face of our armed forces. The reason for defeat wasn’t the lack of courage of our soldiers but was the myopic policies and spineless attitude of our political leaders of the time.

Now China has developed a complex. A fear syndrome. It dreads the Indian military might. And this fear  has prompted China to maliciously intrude into the Indian territory of donglong. China is  asking India to withdraw its troops from the Donglong area in Sikkim sector as a precondition for a “meaningful dialogue” to settle the boundary issue, warning that the Indian Army should learn “historical lessons”, in an oblique reference to the 1962 war.

China needs to be told that yes India has taken historical lessons and we will never repeat the mistake we committed in 1962 war, which we would have won.

In fact China’s frustration is  logical. It cannot see India’s economy growing so fast and despite the international instability in the Economic corridors, India has been able to maintain its GDP. The gross domestic product (GDP) is one of the primary indicators used to gauge the health of a country’s economy. It represents the total dollar value of all goods and services produced over a specific time period; you can think of it as the size of the economy.

China’s growth has been badly hit because of its reliance on external demand. A closer analysis reveals that India was indeed less dependent on global demand than China at the beginning of the global financial crisis, exporting just 20% of its goods and services, compared with China’s 40%. Indeed, part of the decline in China’s growth reflects a deliberate attempt to change its risky growth model by rebalancing its economy away from external demand and investment towards consumption.

With the global economy in search of a new engine of growth, and with India emerging as the fastest growing major economy, there is some speculation that India might take over China’s role. China’s share in the global economy at one time was less than what India’s is today. According to the IMF World Economic Outlook database October 2015, China’s share of the global economy measured in current dollars was just 3.4% at market exchange rates, and 4.5% at purchasing power parity (PPP) in 1999. In comparison, India’s present (2015) share at market exchange rates is 4.8%, and 7.1 % at PPP.

So it is quite evident that China is not all that happy with India’s global show down in the economic field and it’s rapidly growing potential to cater to the needs of it’s friendly neighborhood and that of the world at large.

Now coming to the recently escalated tension in doklam. China wants to show it’s military supremacy in the region and wants India to  back off from doklam.Doklam in fact is a narrow plateau lying in the tri-junction of Bhutan, China and India. It is a disputed territory claimed by both Bhutan and China. It is situated roughly 15 kilometers from the  Nathu La  pass that separates India and China. Doklam is part of the Chumbithat valley, that lies primarily in Tibet. Doka La is a pass connecting the Indian state of  Sikkim with  Tibet  in China. China and Bhutan have agreed via written agreements of 1988 and 1998 that both countries will agree to maintain peace and the status quo in the region.

So the question of China’s forcible intrusion can not be acceptable in the interest of our friendly neighbors and for  peace in the region.

Repeated warnings from Chinese army have so far been ignored by the Indian side. But if China unnecessarily creates a state of unrest in the doklam area, then India too can not remain as a silent spectator.

Therefore, it is now a known reality that China can never be a trustworthy friend, and we need to learn it from our past history. And, with Pakistan becoming more and more aggressive in perpetuating terrorism and unnecessarily poking it’s nose in the internal matters of India and now even trying to meddle in the recent doklam embargo, China will, as it has been doing in the past, use Pakistan to aggrivate the situation, to which Pakistan will never say “NO”.

So, friends Hindi Chini Bhai Bhai…..is now for you to decide.

Media Channels… Losing Grip.

By Manmohan Dhar

It seems media houses across the country are slowly but alarmingly losing grip on journalism,in true sense of the term.

Journalism precisely speaking means presentation of facts characterized by description of events without an attempt at interpretation.

But, if we watch TV channels carrying news about the nation in particular and that of the world in general, we very seldom come across any reasonable journalistic approach being adopted by these media channels. What we see on a routine basis, is the rush for TRPs.

Every media house is in sort of a race, to show the other media house down.

And in doing so, they go to any extent.

Be it yelling, and not allowing others to express their point of view.

Be it inviting people from across the border, and listening to their most unrealistic, false and fabricated anti India propaganda.why? Do they want to listen to the facts direct from the horse’s mouth, or they just want to  sensationalize the discussion.I suppose it is the later. How can they expect Pakistani panelists speak the truth about what is happening in India on account of fundamentalist terrorism unleashed by the Pakistan army through their stooge terrorist organisations, when they very well know that these army trained spokespersons, can never speak something that is not in line with the anti India stance taken by their army.

Anyways, they go on inviting them time and again. Sometimes some very hard cores, who leave no stone unturned in abusing and mud puddling our own country, and we listen to them.We may at times try to reprimand, but that always looks pretentious rather than anger and dissent.

Nowadays, it is a common trend among the media channels to exibit the percentage of their viewership vis a vis their competitors. They think journalism for the sake of journalism is a waste of time, and journalism for the sake of TRPs is the actual journalism. Now if this happens to be state of affairs, then for God sake where is the journalism.

Boosting of showing the news first, can be one of the examples of how these media channels make fool of their viewers.

Sometimes very important on the national front happens, and some media channel carries the story. And as if nothing has happened, other media channels will stick to Bollywood gossip and TV entertainment. Well, this really exposes them so very deeply.

Viewer is intelligent. He knows the magnitude of importance of a particular happening. And, when these media channels go on sensationalizing such news, they are doing nothing but a disservice to the cause of journalism. They think they have befooled the viewer, and the viewer knows, they are up to shaping their TRPs.

It is high time these media channels, realise and understand the mood of their viewers and start opening up New horizons of true journalism. Start giving space to legitimate and we’ll researched news instead of eye catching headlines with bright colors and bold layouts. Also they have to give up exaggerations, scandal mongering and nevertheless sensationalism.  Self promotion and parade of false learning from so called experts is another feather these media channels feel pride in adding to their crown. All  this will have to be shunned once and for all. Otherwise the day is not far when media houses will lose their credibility and their anchors will have to go from Piller to post to regain what they must have lost, and lost irreparably, in propagating yellow journalism.

Media houses hold their allegiance to corporate houses, but anchors don’t.

Anchors are the journalists and they should work for the cause of journalism and for patronage.

They should enter with a strong resolve to serve the nation not the boss. And, if they are strong enough to resist the pressure, they can be

Greenacres Adult Day Care  Inspiration To Live.

Adult Day Care centers are the facilities for senior people and those who, for one reason or the other,  are unable to manage themselves, and their families need to devote their time to other important assignments at hand.

Very recently I got the opportunity to visit, one such centers, the Greenacres. Adult Day Care,  in West Palm Beach, Florida USA. And believe me it was altogether a new world to me.

I was amazed to see a place, where  people of different physical and mental disabilities are being taken care of, by a very well organized and professionally equipped team of care takers, including the center owners.

The property is amazingly furnished with state of art  ambience, infrastructure and other facilities necessary for a professionally run adult day care center.

On top of it, the personalized care of participants by the center owners, was something that added to the credibility of the center as the pioneer in the region.

The founder and CEO of the facility Sam Zutshi asserted that though they draw a very special feeling out of what they do at the center, but for running such a show successfully, one has to put in a lot of toil and hard work.

Sam, while enlightening me on the system of working in these centers said that Dealing with people of altogether different states of mind, and different genders and age groups,  you need to be passionate and at the same time tough, energetic, agile and determined. You also need to have a professional know how and leadership qualities to maintain a sound balance between the participants and the staff.

Catering and hygiene has to be up to the prescribed standards of the agency which regulates these centers, said the CEO.

Besides fulfilling all homely routine requirements of the participants, like food and hygiene, attention has to be paid to all other things, which can add to the happiness, comfort and involvement of the participants, they have to provide amusement activities and some interesting indoor sports activities, added the Co founder and MD, Neil Zutshi.

While I was being taken around the center, I happened to see one of the most important person on the property, Ms.Sandy Mistry, who I was told holds the key position in the center and that she is the back bone and the ultimate driving force for the smooth running of the center.

While having a short interface with Sandy, I could feel her utmost sadness and regret about not getting her parents to the center. And they would live more, she said.

She went on expressing her special gratitude to Sam Zutshi, who put her in the all important position at the center, as she said that during her 25 years of experience in healthcare, she found herself at home at the Greenacres adult day Care center.

I could see a passionate and  a dedicated  person in Sandy Mistry.

“Definitely, with selfless people like Sandy, on our side, we can go places,” asserted the enthusiastic CEO.

While talking to some of the participants at the facility, I was pleased to know that all of them were of the opinion that Sunrise adult day Care was a home away from home, to them.

One of the participants, Margie who  is 100 years old  said that she would not be at a better place than Greenacres. Her family after a thorough research, found this wonderful place for her, she said.

Stephanie, another participant at the center is blind and when I asked her about how she felt at the center, she overwhelmingly said that she could see everything with the eyes of the center owners, staff, nurses and fellow participants. She said doctors are hopeful of getting her sight back.

When asked what would she do the first thing after getting her sight back, she said she would first like to see the center owners, who according to her are the most friendly people she ever knew.

Karen, another participant, was all praise for the nurse  Sammie, but she equally liked the other nurse Nancy as well, she whispered.

She had some suggestions for more games, puzzles and DVD’s to be acuired at the center, for more fun and movies. She said she has her sister and brother-in-law to take care of at their place, but she likes to spend more time at the center. Her mother died 4 years back and she never saw her father who lives in New Jersey.

I could very easily make out, after interviewing them, that Greenacres adult day Care center, is what could be the ultimate destination for them.
What puzzled me a lot, was the magic show performed for the participants and the staff and nurses, by the CEO himself. This was something that held everyone  spell bound.

Sam Zutshi, who himself happens to be an ace magician and illusionist, brought a special feeling of joy and happiness to everyone at the center through his mesmirizing magic tricks and mind boggling illusions. And when asked about the show he put in for the amusement of the participants and the staff, he said that he draws pleasure and satisfaction,  out of everything he does for them. They are the source of strength for him, he asserted.

When asked about the future plans and upcoming activities which could be helpful for making the center more popular and people friendly, the founder director and CEO wasted no time in aprising me of very well thought plans, like taking the participants to outdoor trips, close to nature and also places of interest for them.

Mr. Zutshi said he would like to take the participants and the staff to wild life centuries, museums, historical monuments, sea beaches and various other places of interest, in and around Florida. This to me was definitely something innovative of the CEO.

Well, All I could learn, as a keen observer, was that if you are instrumental in bringing an unending happiness to the people who need care and revive an inspiration in them to live, you are definitely doing a great service to the Mankind.

The agencies which are responsible for the smooth running of these people friendly centers, need to be  working in close coordination  and with  a sense of belongingness, as a large part of the society is directly associated with these centers.Especially those, who want to take a very good care of their dear ones, but due to their pre occupations and personal constraints can not do so, and are obligated to put them in day care centers, so that they get a homely feeling and are safe and secure.

America, Americans… Awesome

Kashmir in a grip of terror… Still a Paradise On Earth.

By Manmohan Dhar.

With its flushing Meadows, scenic bounties, beautiful gardens, vast green lakes, snowy mountains, chinar, pine and deodar trees, the valley of Kashmir, undoubtedly happens to be the paradise on Earth. But, this paradise has literally been reduced to no less than a hell, due to Pakistan sponsored terrorism.

Government of India is leaving no stone unturned in bringing the glory back to the state of Jammu and Kashmir.

Needless to mention that Kashmir is an integral part of India, in its totality, and this has been made amply clear to the International community by the most dynamic and energetic Prime Minister of India Mr. Narinder Modi.

But Bhartiya Janta party, to which the PM belongs, is under a tremendous pressure and has received criticism from all quarters, in so far as its political alliance with the local political party, the People’s democratic party, is concerned.

Since the coalition Govt., came into power in the state of Jammu and Kashmir, the state has seen a tremendous amount of development on infrastructural front, in the shape of roads Bridges, tunnels and train tracks minimizing the distances and connecting the valley with rest of the country. But, at the same time it has also gone through a series of setbacks on the socio political and the economic front, which can be attributed to the unending trail of terror in the valley.

Govt. of India, in a gesture of Goodwill, gives 10% of its total central funds to the state of Jammu and Kashmir, which has just 1% of the total population of the country. And this, by all stats, happens to be a huge financial support, the state is enjoying, leaving behind all other states, including the state of Uttar Pradesh, the largest state of the union of India. Still the development, eludes the state on all fronts. What is the modus operandi of utilizing funds, by the state administration, is a million-dollar question.

On the political front the state has always suffered the most. The govt. is losing its grip on the administration. And the people in turn are losing faith in the government. There is a drastic administrative stalemate prevailing in the state. And this political void has not only been unable to curb Pakistan sponsored terrorism but has inadvertently paved way for a much aggressive terrorism in the state of Jammu and Kashmir.

From the last six months now, Pakistan sponsored terrorism is at its peak, in the form of ceasefire violations wherein terrorists are being given cover fire in a bid to sneak and infiltrate into Kashmir, killing local people and army personnel in the bargain, resulting in retaliatory fire by Indian forces, which Pakistan terms as Indian aggression and unsuccessfully defames India internationally.

Terrorists attack police, para military and armed forces, hurl grenades, open fire on innocent people. They set ablaze the educational institutions and public property.

Religious places have been razed to ground. Religious sentiments are hurt day in and day out.

Separatist groups and militant organizations receive funds through illegal means. A large chunk of which is used to perpetuate terrorism. Working on the behest of Pakistan, they instigate young girls and boys to take it to streets and throw stones at the security forces who guard the interests of the people of the state. And when army takes action, they call it human rights violation.

The separatist forces, through their stubborn attitude and the support they are getting from the neighboring country, have ruined the state politics and made almost an unrepairable dent on the state economy. And this has been the state of affairs from the last 27 years, when mass Exodus of Kashmiri Pandits took place, in a bid to make Kashmir an Islamic entity free from minority Hindus rendering them refugee in their own country. Separatists want a plebiscite as per the UN Security council resolution 1948.

But, to this India says that the resolution has lost its enforceability and credibility and stands null and void. And this narrative puts Pakistan in a state of frustration, resulting in its plot to web nefarious designs to keep India in a state of political instability and at the same time create unrest in otherwise a peaceful state, which once was considered to be paradise on Earth.

But, if good sense prevails upon Pakistan leadership, and it gives up its illogical stand on Kashmir, there is definitely going to be Peace in the region, which is in the interest of both the countries.

Pakistan has to realize and realize very fast, India’s stand on Kashmir that if there is any issue that is to be resolved between the two countries is the Part of Kashmir which is under the illegal occupation of Pakistan, and has to be returned to India, through bilateral dialogue.

Coming to Kashmir, Thanks to the proactive leadership of Prime Minister Narinder Modi the state is on the path of progress, and slowly but surely heading towards normalcy.

No matter, how long it takes Pakistan to realize, Kashmir will continue to be the integral part of India in its totality.

And let it go out loud and clear that Kashmir is the paradise and Kashmir will continue to be the paradise on Earth.

All kashmeer for all kashmeeries will be very soon a reality, with Hindus and Muslims living together in peace brotherhood and Amity working shoulder to shoulder towards the progress of the state in particular and that of the country in general.
