MOTHER’S DAY 2015

I wish all the women who enjoy the motherhood and also those who aspire to be mother, a very happy and affectionate mother’s day.

Being a mother is a great experience for any woman. Especially those  whose endless affection is being reciprocated with equal amount of love and respect.

There are mothers who despite giving birth to their young ones,  are still deprived of the children’s  love. Just because their children, due to one reason or the other, leave their homes and forget their parents.

Such unfortunate mothers need to be given a much needed sympathetic touch by the people who happen to be very close to them. First and foremost is the husband, who can act as the immediate support in the times of need.

There are children also, who despite  having parents, are abandoned and refused Mother’s love and affection. There are many a reason, why children are abandoned. Let us not discuss the details. But, yes this is really not a very healthy state of affairs. Such children also need a compassionate attention of the society.

Celebrated every second sunday of May, Mother’s day is dedicated to all the mothers the world over who live for their children and also those who sacrifice for their children.

I salute the true motherhood.

Happy Mother’s Day.

Kanyadan Or No Kanyadan

Social media has really made the world a very small place.

You can see, chat or even comment on what you feel needs to be.

You can even feel the psyche of the people in their expressions on the social media.

I am going to touch one of the very common phenomenon among our Kashmeeri girls, who after their marriage continue to use the surname of their parental side, alongwith the surname of the family to which they get married. e.g So and So…Gadoo Talashi,  So and So…. Goja Fotedar, So and So…Dhar Khazanchi etc. etc.

My concern is not regarding the carrying of two surnames. Let them carry two surnames, if at all they think they are doing it the right way.

My only concern is about the Kanyadan.

Even if we go by the literal meaning of the word, it means that the father gives his daughter in “dan”. Thereby giving her to the other side i.e. the boy’s side.

So long the daughter carries the name of her father’s side, the significance of Kanyadan gets marred.

In present setup one can even get the surname changed, in the academic certificates, only if one wishes to,  simply going through some formalities.

So what is the fun of stretching your name.

There should be, no sentiments associated with the religious rituals.

I would like my daughters, who wear the traditional kashmeeri dress “feran’ and other  accessories associated with the traditional dress like targa, zooj, pooch, loungi etc. etc. with pride, to just have an insight of the traditions regarding sur names prevailing during the olden golden days.

I would not suggest as to what should actually be the practice, but yes I would like my readers to  understand for themselves, whether the contention is right or wrong.

Kanyadan or no Kanyadan………..customs say that girl can only carry the name of her spouse and not of her father after the kanyadan.

Once out of Gotra, means beyond any doubt, that you have to part with the gotra and caste of your parents, only to ensure the legitimacy of the Kanyadan.

Carrying father’s surname after the marriage, only nullifies  the purpose of the festivities of marriage and that of the Kanyadan itself.

This is not meant to hurt some of my daughters who carry dual identity, but yes I would like them to give a thought to the very essence of kanyadan.

The most sacred form of marriage for 2500 years in India has been kanyadan, “the gift of a girl.” The concept has a prominent place in ancient Hindu lawbooks.

when the father hands over all his rights and duties towards his daughter to her prospective groom. This way the father gives her daughter as a gift to the groom. As per tradition, groom is considered a form of Lord Vishnu.

And what is the harm if you are exclusively known as a member of the dynasty of Vishnu.

Well, in certain cases there happens to be no need to change the parental caste, as the destiny plans like that. What happens, the bride and the groom happen to be from the same caste and gotra, but not related to each other. In such cases also marriages take place. Though the caste and the gotra remain the same but Kanyadaan also doesn’t get nullified.

What is important  to understand is that Kanyadaan basically means shifting of caste and gotra, though it remains the same in some exceptional cases. But that doesn’t mean that the bride has not left the parental caste and gotra.

There can be an elaborate discussion on the subject. Here I have just tried to evaluate the importance of Kanyadaan.

I hope the message is conveyed in the right perspective.

IT IS NO USE CRYING OVER SPILT MILK, MUFTI WINS, MODI WOES!

There is nothing surprising about it.

Mufti succeeded in his game plan.

And Modi has been subjected to live with his woes.

I can’t make it out as to why BJP was so desperate to get power in J&K.

People in the valley had out rightly rejected BJP.

Similarly as Jammu rejected PDP.

Geographically it was a fractured mandate.

Mufti has a track record of having a clear tilt towards Pakistan.

BJP  knew it, but still went into an alliance which was nowhere near the verdict given by the electorate of the state.

What do you call this? Thirst for power, desperation or a  political sell out.

BJP  should have “some nerve” to be a part and parcel of the state Govt. in alliance with the pro Pakistan Mufti and the PDP.

Mufti succeeded in creating a well knit illusion for the Indian leadership.

I think BJP  owes an explanation to the kp’s .

oh! not only to the KPs but to the whole Nation.

Medha Patkar Resigns From AAP Many more may follow Political Strategy At Its Best

Once the fertile ground is levelled, developments would go underway.
And to start with, it is Medha.
Many more may follow.
Then a process of allegations and counter allegations would be undertaken, accompanied by a well knit and crafted trail of praises for each other from both sides, so that their integrity and credibility is not dented at any cost whatsoever.
Outright exploitation of media will be the main plank to operate the show.
And if everything goes right, which I think is far from possible, there will be a rejoiceful “Reunion”.
What a political stunt Mr.Kejriwal.

No Mind Games It Is The Fear

When Australian cricket captain Micheal clarke says in a press conference that Australia will have to put everything together to beat a cricketing giant like India. He speaks a spade a spade.

When he says Dhoni has been exceptional in his captaincy during the world cup. He speaks a spade a spade.

It is not the mind game he is playing, it is his fear psychosis which makes him to appreciate the ultimate beauty of Indian Cricket.

It is ironic to hear the Indian cricket stalwarts say that Australia is playing, what they call it, “the Mind Game”

See how they themselves degrade the standards of a strong cricketing side like India.

They are not ready to accept that India is playing fantastic cricket in this world cup.

I put it the other way round. India is playing exceptional cricket and it is not the “mind game” which will hinder them. it will only and only be, GOD FORBID, their poor performance which will come in their way to conquer the finals.

Please start believing in your team. and stop giving weightage to the fearful statements of the opponents.

Cricket is a game which chases the day, and not the team. It is the particular day when you play to the given circumstances.

Cricket is game of uncertainties and you never know how it progresses under given circumstances.

Clarke’s statement is the outcome of fear and please for god’s sake never call it a “Mind Game”

India is the cricketing giant in the present scenario.

And India will triumph.

JAI BHARAT.

embracement turns into embarrassment

Mr.Modi as I already stated in my previous blog. “You continue the alliance and face the wrath”.

And that is what you are subjected to, now, in the parliament and outside.

Mufti has a track record. And you should have known it.

But, Alas! Just for the sake of tasting governance in the state of J&K and just to celebrate the mandate that the people of jammu gave you, you jumped into an ugly alliance and got what was the writing on the wall.

Mr.Modi, you have not been furnished with the complete background of Kashmeer politics by your kashmeer care takers and thinktanks.

Kashmeer politics is all about funds, aids, financial packages, grants and budgetary allocations and beyond that it is pro pakistan stance.

India features only in oath taking ceremonies, that too for lip service sake.

Time to recall your MLAs. Mr.Modi.

Withdraw support and let democracy prevail.

Please don’t let anti India forces spread their tentacles of nefarious designs against India.

Mufti is an arrogant, pro successionist political giant. Leaving him alone would have been good for the over all health of national politics in general and state politics in particular.

Anyways, it is always better late than never.

India wants you to correct every political misadventure and this one tops the list.

JAI BHARAT.

International Women’s Day; A Day To Introspect.

Women’s day is celebrated every year on 8th March.

This is a very special day for women.

Women who contribute towards society.

Women who make their presence felt by virtue of their selfless services to the mankind.

Women who participate in nation building in whatever manner they can and in whatever capacity they are, with pride and honour.

Women who make the men’s world a place of joy, happiness, peace and prosperity.

Women who are a reason to live, for men.

But, what about the women who become the cause of every misery for the men who think that the women in their life will change their life and bring fortune.

What about the women who indulge in domestic voilence to the extent that men find no other way to escape the torture they are subjected to, than suicide. (Suicide is not only cowardice but a crime too. Men should not resort to such a shameful act, whatsoever the circumastances.)

What about the women who turn a peaceful, progressive and dignified family into a hell.

How can we ignore all this in the glitter of women’s day celebrations.

I think the society as a whole needs to introspect.

Women in particular, who are responsible for the social values, need to act towards reforms.

Men too can not remain aloof and be silent spectators in the persuit.

Please make this women’s day a day of introspection and do society a favour which signifies the importance of this day.

Let us celebrate men’s day on 9th March every year, instead of 19th November.I would say 7th, but no, women first.

Celebrating both days on consecutive days may perhaps add to the essence of both the days.

Celebrations are good. But celebrating life everyday every moment, as the most precious gift of God, can be the real celebration for each one of us.

Happy Women’s Day.

Mufti Man Malice Misadventure Malevolence

Only after a few hours of assuming power after taking oath and sewearing in the name of God that he will keep the unity and integrity of India supreme, Mufti syed literally wasted no time in expressing his anti India stance, though being in alliance with the most patriotic and nationalist political party of India the BJP.

What has Mr. Modi really in store now to deliver to the citizens of India.

The most enthusiastic embracement with Mufti must have by now lost its warmth and Mr. Modi must be finding himself in a dilemma whether he should really have embraced Mr.Mufti or tried to stick to the normal procedures of protocol.

Anyways let us not debate the enthusiasm with which Mr. Modi met Mr.Mufti. But the credibility of Mr.Mufti is most surely debatable.

How can we forget the most horrible drama of terror under which the most dreaded terrorists were handed over to the terrorist outfits in exchange of Mr. Mufti’s daughter Rubaiya, when Mr. Mufti was the first muslim home minister of India.

The 1989 kidnapping of Rubaiya Sayeed was an act carried out by members of the Jammu Kashmeer Liberation Front, a Kashmeeri Muslim militant organization, on December 8, 1989 in Jammu and Kashmeer. Mufti Mohammad Sayeed was then the Home minister of India in the V. P. Singh Government.Rubaiya sayed was kidnapped at 3:45 p.m. on December 8, 1989, about 500 metres from her home at Nowgam when she was returning from the Lal Ded Memorial Women’s Hospital in a local mini bus. Four militants forced her out of the vehicle at gunpoint into a waiting Maruti car and disappeared.

Mufti’s daughter travelling by a local public mini bus……..?

And militants by a maruti car….?

Kidnapping…. Only and only after five days of Mr. Mufti assuming the charge of the union home minister?

Brisk action in succumbing to the irrational demand of the terrorists and releasing the jailed terrorists….?

And now; Mr. Mufti utters and utters with command that the elections in the state of Jammu & Kashmeer was result of a lenient approach on part of the terrorists and that of Pakistan, who made the elections possible in J&K, and not because of the thumping resolve of the people of J&k who came out in record numbers to uphold the values of democracy so that normalcy, peace and prosperity returns to the militancy trodden state.

Every true nationalist has ridiculed the statement in toto.

what about you Mr. Modi & your team.

President and Governors can be impeached. what about the CMs of Mufti’s calibre and worth? And what about his ministers who demand the handing over of mortal remains of Afzal Guroo.

Mr. Modi you continue the alliance and face the wrath.

And if I am not exaggerating you may lose power next time at the cost of gaining ” partial power in J&K” this time.

Mufti has already sent the necessary signals to Pakistan.

And now the ball is in your court, Mr. Modi.

Mr.Modi you are known for your proactive approach to every eventuality. You will have to be proactive in this aggressive, agitating, provoking and most disturbing state of affairs created by your alliance partner in J&K,only after hours of assuming power in the state.

Is Jammu At Par With Kashmeer

There are so many factors that alienate these two cities from each other though being the aligning provinces of the same State of J&K.

One of the most disturbing and the most alarming factor is the disproportionate development in these two geographically most important cities.

Actions speak louder than words. Political parties which come in power in the state of j&k, always be-fool the people of jammu province by making false and deceitful claims that their party will see to it that jammu and kashmeer are both treated at par in so far as developmental activities are concerned. But it has always been the reverse of it.

No doubt, Kashmeer holds the key to the tourist industry in the state but that is not enough reason to overlook the deteriorating infrastructural mess in the jammu region.

It can not be denied at any cost that Valley needs to be upgraded infra-structurally just to keep pace with the International standards of tourist rudiments, but at the same time we have to see to it that jammu is also balanced and beautified. Otherwise it is bound to make the whole valley show up, vapid, tasteless and uninspiring.

Be it roads, public convenience points, bus stands, railway stations, Govt.offices, or for that matter the airports. There is a huge difference between what these places look like in these two cities.

I am not saying that the administrative agencies are not at work. They are, but a prudent and responsible citizen can very easily make out the difference.

Jammu is in shambles. Let it be known, loud and clear.

Authorities need to take the call in the right earnest, lest it is too late.

Please don’t let bus stands look like garbage dumps, public conveniences as stinky corpses and an airport no less than an over- crowded inter city general bus stand.

Every place has its degree of importance, to be in a state it should be, and this state of affairs ought to be maintained at every cost. And it the administration which has to set the things right.

It is also the people who can play a vital role in setting the home right. But in the contemporary world they too expect a great quality infra structure which can tempt them to the extent that they can’t help turning into responsible citizens at the very on-set.
