Murder Of Mandate

Karnataka people voted in the assembly elections a few days back.

As per the number of seats won by the three main contenders in the race for power it was the BJP with 104 seats emerging as the single largest party.

Apparently it was quite evident that the people of Karnataka wanted a change in the state administration with Siddaramaiya proving to be a complete failure in running a corruption free government in Karnataka.

That is why with 122 in their kitty they were rejected getting only 78 this time. A clear cut anti incumbency vote against the congress regime.

BJP got elevated to a position where they could claim the right to form the government with a total tally of 104 in their favour which fell short by 8.

BUT if we analyse the results of the Karnataka elections we will come to know That if it was not a clear mandate in favour of BJP which in fact was, it was never a mandate for the congress party to return to power at all.

Congress got rejected but the dirty game of politics was yet to come in play. Congress immediately came out with a politically motivated proposal of “sacrificing” CM’s post for a dalit.

Now, whether it was a sacrifice for dalits or a hunger for power which could only be attained from the back door and the easiest and the most unethical way to do it was bowing before a party which was too far away from even thinking to be in the race for power and the leader of the same party is now the CM of Karnataka as a result of an alliance which every political guru can understand as to whether it is a fair weather alliance or a long lasting alliance.

BJP with 104 MLAs did not forge an alliance with JDS at the cost of their self respect. They claimed to form a government on the basis of being the single largest and that it was just a co incidence that they fell short of a few seats. But people’s mandate was evidently in favour of BJP.

So if some political experts are of the opinion that BJP should have not claimed the stake to form the government at the very onset it looks that they are not assessing the political scenario on logical ground. BJP has been asked to form the government by the people of Karnataka giving them the highest number of MLAs.

So it was a right decision having been taken by the BJP after keeping the sentiments of people into consideration.

It was now the duty of some of the MLAs from other parties to uphold the mandate of the people and support the single largest party so that a popular government could be in place as per the aspirations of the people of Karnataka.

BUT the power thirst can make you forget even the basic standards of humanity. MLAs of congress and JDS were treated as cattle.Herded by the congress and JDS the MLAs were cattle driven from one hotel to the other.when your leaders don’t trust you this is how you are treated .

On the day of floor test CM yeddurappa after giving a very emotional and powerful speech in the assembly as to how the parties which can come to any possible low to grab power did use unfair strategy and created an unholy alliance to sabotage his govt.which was formed just to keep the people’s aspirations into consideration .

As a reminder we should know that in fact congress and JDS are the two banks of a river which can never meet. But this unholy alliance between these two political rivals is nothing but a total deceit with the people of Karnataka for which both will have to pay very heavily in the political battle ahead. People will teach them a lesson as to how dreadful it can be politically if their mandate is dishonoured distorted disrespected and manipulated to suit their political ambitions and also to keep BJP out of power which has with the continued success of the PM both on national and international fronts been the flashpoint of their growing hatred against this political giant.

Further the show off on the day of oath taking of Kumaraswamy can in no way be treated as a threat to Modi’s return to power in 2019 only on the ground that all these political leaders who were displaying unity in diversity in fact happens to be a diversity in unity. And every participating leader knew it much better than their political critics. All of them present on the dias are basically each other’s political enemy and displaying friendship was nothing but a political gimmick played by each one of them simply to keep BJP out of power in a state where people in fact wanted BJP to rule but by wooing the religious seers and priests congress and JDS succeeded in their dirty game plan but to their utmost astonishment the resignation of CM Yeddurappa well before the floor test not only made them think over what they did but it also gave a huge credibility to his own political stature in the eyes of the people of Karnataka.

All that remains to be seen is the longevity of this opportunist alliance which was formed out of prejudice, hatred and sheer thirst and hunger for power through whichever means it came. Even if it came to them by sacrificing their own party principles or by shaking hands with them who once threw them out of power.

So, this power game in politics is what seems to be the name of the game in this part of the world.
